The part of Life on the Screen I'm reading deals with humans' intellectual relationship with computers, and Lanier's cybernetic totalism as expressed by Bill Joy has to do with whether our new technologies will overcome us with the speed of their development. I see glue in Chris Cunningham's All is Full of Love video: the two other documents pit "us" against technology to some extent--Julia vs the suitor, the world vs the crazed loon unleashing knowledge-enabled mass destruction--but just as I'm using this weblog to clarify my thoughts and communicate with anyone willing to read, we will become our technology.
