Recovered from whence it ran on Robot Wisdom, the Don't-miss paean
to the soundtrack from O Brother, Where Art Thou?. The piece that was so haunting in the film--Didn't Leave Nobody But the Baby,
the siren song--doesn't sound quite so haunting on the disc.
The soundtrack disc is quite nice, but one may be happier with the movie itself. O Brother is the best film I've seen in quite a while, unpresaged in my rant on summer movies. My brother and his SO did point out, after we watched Being John Malkovich, that I love those weird movies.
More summer movie updates: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was, in fact, very nice on DVD. Did see Evolution, which I thought was good, but I apparently willed myself to not care about the bad science, particularly the periodic table tango at the end. I hear some critics are panning AI, but I'm still holding out hope (at least until I see it). Someone on SPR MUCK, although a notable fussbudget (no offense), managed somehow to not know to avoid Tomb Raider, and complained of it. Haven't seen Unbreakable again yet, even though it's been out for an entire two or three days.
