Flag-burning and the power of the Web

It's that time of year again! reports Shadowkeeper of Metafilter (discussion). The flag-burning amendment passed the House 298 to 125. I'm not typically one for politics--especially an issue that seems so obvious--but Yahoo! shows the real power of the Web over newspapers:

``Vandalizing a no-parking sign is a misdemeanor, but burning a flag is a hate crime, because burning the flag is an expression of contempt for the moral unity of the American people,'' said Rep. Henry Hyde (news - bio - voting record), R-Ill.
