Who Will Be the Buyer of Be, Inc.? (osOpinion)

Who Will Be the Buyer of Be, Inc.? asks osOpinion. The suggested contenders are Palm (BeIA as PalmOS++), Transmeta, AOL, Sony (BeOS as software VAIO), and oddly enough Sun Microsystems.

I would dismiss Sun, AOL, and Transmeta. Sun is (admittedly: the contender that only few have proposed) a stretch of the imagination. Transmeta has its own problems to worry about, finance-wise. AOL is the most likely of these three, since it's always been a media company that acquires technology (Nullsoft and Netscape come to mind; ICQ would, if they weren't AIMifying ICQ rather than vice versa), even before it +TWed.

My personal guess is Sony, but that's just a visceral reaction. I wouldn't be surprised at either Palm or Sony.
