No response to my Google Groups post. Here's a vaguely similar one from comp.graphics.api.opengl, that also has no responses.
Posts about stereo having no responses seems to be a running theme. I would think there'd be more people from the stereoscopy community on Usenet yapping away--but perhaps there's not really a "stereoscopy community," and a lot of this is actually guesswork and one-off self-discovery that doesn't get documented anywhere.
