Morning coffee MLP

Already upgraded MUCK software and fixed my LiveJournal style (which I broke yesterday), and got some nice email about the Mozilla thing. Hopefully it's doable.

Nicest thing so far about being back in Mozilla instead of K-Meleon: undo in textareas works. (Gah, do I really have to implement that for the WYSIWYG widget? I would like to have done so, but I don't want to. Egh.)

I linked to this Joel on Software piece last item because of its mention of grokking pointers, but Joel also lauds Visual Basic for its ease of calling outside Windows C++ stuff. Does anyone know how Python compares in that department? I know it's at least some extendable with C, but how easy is it (and how easy is it in Visual Basic, since I don't have experience with that)? For one thing, the same stigma applies somewhat:

And the worst part about coding in VB is that people think you're not cool because your code doesn't have {'s and }'s. I can live with the shame if it means I'm more productive.

Though I must admit Python is at least tolerated in my social circles whereas VB is an object of derision. But that's us.

Don't forget how cool the Dutch guilders looked.

The WELL didn't save Salon; will blogs?

Wired News has a couple articles on MUDs: Games started off without a bang, a historical background piece, and No bells, no whistles: just games, about Skotos, as seen advertised on KeenSpot sites.
