I thought a bit about writing a functional spec for my personal link web service idea this morning. I may do it. To actually get it working, I'd first bump my Cornerhost plan up to script and install software. I imagine I should write it locally (like on my Linux box, locally) and only then set it up for the world to hack on. I'm not sure how I'd continue to run it publically, or why I should bother since it's a pretty academic thing I'm not even sure I am interested in.
Could I run a commercial web service, according to Cornerhost's terms? I don't rightly know. But I'm probably going to bump my plan to script anyway, so I can run the Roundup issue tracker for winget and any other projects I come up with.
I'm not helping with the LUG very much. We did the same thing we usually do: plan to do something too soon to be adequately ready, so we have to do things like put up flyers the week of the event, which doesn't get anyone there who didn't already know about it.
But we have an event on Friday at which I'm supposed to speak about Python and any other Linuxable languages I can. So eh.
