No longer enjoying this month

  • Cities in Flight by James Blish. I said on Allconsuming, "Interesting. I don't read enough classic SF. I should get some recommendations and buy from the used store."
  • Headcrash by Bruce Bethke. Yeah, he coined cyberpunk, OK. The knowing wink is troweled on. It plays the "Information superhighway" metaphor to fairly good effect. The ending is weak; I figured Jack's recurring fax wake-up call would tie in somehow, and it didn't, which was disappointing. I'd give it a miss, really.
  • Elvis Costello - 45. Nice. Still.
