It's friendly; books

New tools a spying boss will love from Wired News:

If an employee strays from the straight and narrow, ActivatorDesk can instantly implement a "lock-down policy" and send network administrators an alert by e-mail.

"It's a friendly way to audit employee activity," a spokesman said.

Pretty apropos as I read David Brin's The Transparent Society. I'm not very far but it's already interesting--it seems to have exactly the same premise as an article of his I read, but of course it'll get deeper treatment in the book.

That's from the library. I also checked out Spaceland and Nolo's Nondisclosure Agreements. Spaceland had the same interpersonal problems as White Light, which I didn't care for, but the vision of a potential four-dimensional space was good. I didn't get to read the interesting Nondisclosure Agreements as closely as I would've liked, but eh. I can check it out again someday if I feel the need.

Meanwhile not only do I have a chunk of Metamagical Themas left to read, but I bought The Ultimate Cyberpunk at B&N the other day. I haven't even opened that one.
