I want my entry pages rebuilt when they're pinged. Phil's trying to have it rebuild entry pages when pung, so this is also to ping him. Hopefully that works. If the problem is that the ping client will timeout before MT gets around to sending the response, I figure (in my most recent thread post as of this writing) why not just fork a process to do the work while the CGI returns a success response? The client won't get an error response when the Trackback server has a build error, but MT has other ways to get that word out (it could mention it in the mail it sends the author about the ping, or add it to the activity log). I get the impression that lacks the Movable Type-nature, and I know I dislike perl forking on my machine (but then, that's throwing Spam Assassin at underpowered hardware).
I'd also like a combined comments-Trackback plugin. And a pony. Plz thx.
(And though I suspected it, I just found out the hard way that resetting the activity log clears the data the MTSearches plugin uses. Ah, well.)
