Think I'll do some Radio things today. There's a new thing I've been putting off and putting off, muttering under my breath every time I see the correspondence with the fellow who asked after it in Eudora (speaking of which, I haven't finished fetching today's email--51 messages this morning when I started, gah). He complained of some things it wasn't doing for me, and just a couple days ago I realized I can use VMware to make a clean Radio install and get after whatever was wrong with it.
And I probably have unreleased Stapler changes, and of course Kit changes though I may want the above news thing nailed down before releasing a Kit. I'm still not sure what I'm doing wrt the Kit and Stapler feeds, since the only thing configured to publish to them is Radio still. ("Publish them with Radio, still," you should say. Well, all right, then.)
I'm now using Phoenix for my main browser, with the Phoenity Aqua theme. It's very lovely; maybe it'll allay my Aqua envy for a while. My only complaint is the buttons are sooo big. Here's a shot--that's the small buttons option. I was going to have those three icons, the ones for opening the Bookmarks, Downloads, and History sidebars respectively, in the personal toolbar (the one with the "Subscribe to RSS" etc links), but since they would stretch it vertically to the same height as the toolbar, I just can't do it. I was able to drop the Stop button, though, since Phoenix Tips & Tricks says how to change the URL clicking on the (lovely, wavy, pretty) throbber performs, and javascript:stop() works just as well as any.
Unfortunately (for me, last night) the Phoenix I downloaded was the 30 December nightly including the software install bug. The more I looked after the bug the less I liked the now default Qute theme--not that it's bad, I just wanted something even simpler and its odd throbber started to grate. Fortunately (for me, last night) I also had a current version of Mozilla installed--also the 30 December nightly, which doesn't have any software install bug. So I installed the themes on Mozilla, even though they weren't actually for Mozilla and so didn't actually work, then manually copied the appropriate XML wedges from Mozilla's chrome.rdf to Phoenix's. Gah. But it worked.
I've also started using the Movable Type bookmarklet now. It's rather nice. I prefer the popup page to the real post page, in fact, for some reason. I'm kind of disappointed the forms don't scale when you resize the window, but if I get annoyed with it enough, I'll look into hax0ring the forms.
