Here's an idea for a weblog feature nobody would use: offsite comments links. Instead of having your own comments, you would link to the discussion elsewhere. For example I also posted the previous post to my LiveJournal; it would be nice to disable comments for the previous item and instead have a link to the LiveJournal entry for its comments.
I had this with Radio, actually, since I was using my own hacked-up comments code anyhow. Often I was linking to something with little commentary, so instead of offering the chance to fork the comments I would replace a link to my comments for the entry with a link to, say, the Techdirt article if it was a Techdirt item. I suppose I would do a Movable Type plugin if I cared that much, but I'm posting more content with MT than Radio anyway. (I'm also posting less, as described, but that wouldn't affect the offsite comments idea.)
