I got back way late last night from my trip. It was a job interview, so I'm not sure how much is polite to talk about, so I won't, but that's cool. I got to meet plenty (six!) of my "online" friends who I guess will be less "online" if I get the job.
Also I've realized I kinda migrated all my really personal stuff to my LiveJournal, so I wouldn't bother the technical-minded folks reading here too much--which breaks a basic guideline: write for yourself. So if you're one of those folks only out for technical junk, 'ware before, as I intend to be even more boring. I should also dig around with Stapler to get that aggregate "my stuff" feed that I planned a few times, so you can get the weblog, LiveJournal, del.icio.us links, personal issue tracker changes, etc in one feed.
Oh, and a redesign would be nice. The cool thing I wanted to do doesn't seem possible, thanks to being unable to make text flow around an absolutely positioned item, so I guess I'll go with a partial solution perhaps.
Also realized upon my return I should've installed mt-screen here, as when I came back I had not only 7-10 adult comment spam, but 7-10 adult comment spam in the high-volume Adult Swim (natch) thread where kids could, would, and perhaps did stumble on them in my three days of lacking stewardship. Ouch.
I've used LiveJournal phone post now. It's pretty cool. I bitched to some folks that it discards entries when you hang up when you're supposed to press pound and select the entry privacy and I kept hanging up instead of pressing pound, but luckily I was wrong, it does still post them privately. So those posts got posted late instead of never, which is nice.
